Saints LB Junior Galette Arrested in Domestic Disturbance: Police

The team's sack leader has been arrested after a woman said her face was scratched and her earring ripped off

New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette has been arrested in a domestic violence case in which a woman says her face was scratched and her ear bloodied after an earring was ripped off.

Police say Galette is being booked on misdemeanor simple battery stemming from the disturbance at the player's house. Prosecutors could later charge him. It is not clear if Galette has a lawyer.

Police spokesman Lt. Brian McGregor says officers arrested Galette after a 22-year-old woman called. The woman alleges that Galette and cousin Terrance Banks forcibly removed her from the home when she demanded cab fare. Banks also has been arrested.

The Saints say they are aware of the arrest and are gathering information.

The 26-year-old player is the team's sacks leader. He was signed as an undrafted rookie in 2010 and in September signed a $41.5 million contract extension through 2019.
