The Chicago Bears have taken San Jose State defensive end Jarron Gilbert with their first selection of the 2009 NFL draft.

Gilbert, a 6-foot-5, 288-pounder, was selected Sunday with the fourth pick of the third round, the 68th pick overall.

The Bears had traded their first-round pick in a deal with Denver for quarterback Jay Cutler, then traded down out of the second round on Saturday for Seattle's third-round pick and a fourth-round pick.

The Gilbert selection was made with the pick Seattle traded to Chicago.
