You would be surprised how excited grownups can get when they see a Bay Area icon.

There were screams, cheers and a few squeals Friday morning when SJ Sharkie walked in the KNTV newsroom. Everyone grabbed their Droids, iPhones and cameras to get a photo or two or three.

Sharkie was here to help promote the pending Western Conference Final series featuring his team in teal. The San Jose Sharks take on the Chicago Blackhawks Sunday at high noon.

Sharkie arrived just in time to help with the 10:25 a.m. cut in. He did the weather for Rob Mayeda and he helped close the broadcast alongside anchor Laura Garcia-Cannon.

Although mute, Sharkie knows how to fill the screen.
