Stephen Curry Named Sports Illustrated's 2015 NBA Player of Year

Stephen Curry did not win Sports Illustrated's coveted Sportsperson of the Year award, but he was named NBA Player of the Year by the publication on Thursday.

Women's tennis star Serena Williams beat out Curry for SI's top 2015 honor, but there was "little question" as to who would take home the award for best athlete in the Association.

This marks yet another distinction for Steph in his most memorable year to date. In addition to winning 2015's NBA's Most Valuable Player award, Curry has been named Sportsman of the Year (BET Awards) and Best Male Athlete (ESPYs, Teen Choice Awards).

After leading Golden State to an NBA championship in the spring, Curry has taken another leap in his seventh professional season, averaging a career-high 32.0 points per game.

The 25-1 Warriors take on the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night looking to avenge their only loss of the regular season.
