The San Francisco 49ers notoriously slow defense somehow managed to escape from one of the hottest quarterbacks in the league.
Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced that the controversial Michael Vick will not take the field against the 49ers this Sunday. The starting job will instead go to the much more stationary Kevin Kolb.
Vick is nursing a rib cartilage injury that he suffered in the first quarter against the Washington Redskins last week.
After spending time in jail for his role in an illegal dog fighting ring, Vick returned to the NFL last year and backed up fromer Philadelphia starting quarterback Donovon McNabb.
He was suppose to return to his backup role this season, even with McNabb in Washington, but an injury to annoited starter Kolb forced Vick back into the line up. And once there he didn't let go.
The speedy quarterback showed his maturity in games against the Detrot Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
