Considering that the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals are both 3-7 and tied for last place, this week's Monday Night Football matchup between the two consensus pre-season favorites to win the NFC West might not live up to the hype anticipated a few months ago.
But 49ers linebacker Takeo Spikes and Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett are doing their part to stoke hostilities with a series of Twitter provocations in advance of Monday night's face-off.
The hostilities started Tuesday when Spikes, already in the middle of a 15-tweet binge Tuesday, provoked Dockett with, "What's happening bruh-- why are yall 3-7??"
Dockett was unwilling to retreat. "We can always start with you first. We are all eyes & Ears on twit," Dockett responded.
"We on Twitter wanna hear ur explanation first???", Spikes shot back.
Spikes then took his own bait in a brilliant misdirection. "To be honest, I don't know, but by the time I figure it out, we will be 4-7. C ya Monday big guy," he tweeted.
"You a damn Lie try 3-8 C ya Monday,' Dockett fired back.

Until that game is played, this Thanksgiving weekend Twitter war is just a big dollop of Cool Whip.
