Barry Zito struck out 10 for the first time since July 5th, 2008 , pinch-hitter Andres Torres singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth and the  Giants beat the Cardinals 2-0 on Saturday night.

Zito (3-0) outpitched Adam Wainwright in an impressive pitchers dual that saw Barry lower his ERA to 1.32 for the season. Wainwright (3-1) went pitch for pitch with Zito for seven innings before giving up two runs in the 8th and losing for the first time this year.

The Giants southpaw allowed only three hits while giving up three walks and left the game after striking out the side in the eighth to a standing ovation.  San Francisco, who also took the series opener 4-1 on Friday night., ensured themselves a series victory. St, Louis has lost only it's first series of the season after winning its opening five sets.

Brian Wilson closed out the game for his 4th save of the season. Matt Cain will face former Giant Brad Penny in Sunday's finale.
