49ers LT Staley Inactive, Snapping Streak of 100 Consecutive Starts

SANTA CLARA – Five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Staley will not suit up for the 49ers on Sunday against the New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium due to a hamstring injury.

Outside linebacker Aaron Lynch returns to action after missing five games with a high ankle sprain. Tank Carradine, a second-round pick in the 2013 draft, will be inactive. Carradine is not injured.

Defensive lineman Quinton Dial will also not suit up due to an elbow injury.

Staley was announced as one of the 49ers’ seven inactive players. He had not missed a game since the beginning of the 2011 season – a streak that included 100 consecutive games, including eight postseason contests.

Staley had the third-longest active streak among offensive tackles with 92 consecutive starts. Only Cleveland's Joe Thomas (157) and Oakland's Donald Penn (153) rank ahead of him on the list.

The 49ers are expected to start veteran Zane Beadles at left tackle. Beadles was a three-year starter at left tackle during his college career at Utah. He started three games at right tackle for the Denver Broncos as a rookie in 2010, but has never started a game at left tackle in his professional career.

Andrew Tiller, who started the first five games of the season at right guard before rookie Joshua Garnett replaced him, is slated to start at left guard.
