49ers WR Patton Ruled Out Vs Dolphins With a Concussion

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Wide receiver Quinton Patton was diagnosed with a concussion in the third quarter of the 49ers’ game Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Patton appeared to be injured on the first play of the second half after Colin Kaepernick’s pass deflected off intended target Torrey Smith and was intercepted.

Patton has started each of the 49ers’ 11 games this season. He must clear the NFL’s concussion protocol in order to be eligible to return to action next week against the Chicago Bears.

Patton had one reception for 12 yards on Sunday against the Dolphins. He the team’s second-leading receiver on the season with 31 catches for 374 yards.
