SANTA CLARA – Running back Carlos Hyde, the 49ers’ leading ground-gainer, will miss his second game due to an injured AC joint in his right shoulder.
The 49ers on Sunday morning announced Hyde as one of the team’s seven inactive players for the game against the New Orleans Saints at Levi’s Stadium.
The 49ers figure to use all three healthy running backs to compensate for the loss of Hyde.
Outside linebacker Aaron Lynch (ankle) and cornerback Rashard Robinson (knee) were also inactive due to injuries.
Nose tackle Mike Purcell, who started the 49ers’ first five games but struggled holding the point of attack in the run game, was also inactive. Glenn Dorsey is active and see action at nose tackle.
DuJuan Harris made his season debut two weeks ago after being activated from the practice squad the day before the Oct. 23 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Harris played 26 of the 49ers’ 70 offensive snaps. He gained 39 yards rushing on 11 carries. He also caught two passes for 18 yards.
“I think DuJuan’s earned more opportunity based on how he played,” 49ers offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins said.

Mike Davis started against Tampa Bay, but he ultimately saw less playing time than Harris and Shaun Draughn.
Draughn carried once for 16 yards but led the team in receiving with five catches for 37 yards and a touchdown. Davis gained 21 yards on seven carries.
