Injury Report: 49ers WR Kerley Upgraded to Limited Practice

SANTA CLARA – Jeremy Kerley, the 49ers’ leading receiver, was upgraded on Tuesday to limited on the team’s official participation report.

The 49ers conducted only walk-through practices on Monday and Tuesday, so their injury reports are only an estimation of the level at which each player would have practiced.

NaVorro Bowman is out for the year with a torn Achilles. The club has yet to place him on season-ending injured reserve.

Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (left foot), who is still in an orthopedic boot, would not have practiced. Cornerback Jimmie Ward will not play Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals due to a right quadriceps strain.

Kerley appears to be on pace to play in Thursday's game after sustaining an ankle injury late in the 49ers' 24-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He leads the 49ers with 18 receptions for 202 yards and a touchdown.

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer did not participate in practice after sustaining a concussion in Arizona’s loss on Sunday to the Los Angeles Rams. Coach Bruce Arians said earlier on Tuesday that it’s still possible Palmer has enough time to clear the NFL’s return-to-play protocol.
