John York: Report of Jed York's Demotion Is ‘completely' False

ATLANTA – Any changes the 49ers make at the end of the season as a result of the team’s record streak of futility will apparently not involve CEO Jed York.

Co-chair John York told reporters that there is no veracity to a CBS Sports report that Jed York, his son, might be demoted from his position.

John York was asked by Bay Area News Group’s Cam Inman on Sunday if the report of Jed York being stripped of his duties was false, he answered, “Completely.”

The 49ers’ 41-13 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday was the team’s 13th consecutive defeat. The previous record for consecutive losses was nine, which the 49ers recorded in 1978 under coaches Pete McCulley and Fred O’Connor.
