Larry Fitzgerald Inches Closer to Jerry Rice's Receptions Record

Larry Fitzgerald caught 10 passes in the Cardinals' win over Washington this weekend, vaulting him past Cris Carter and Marvin Harrison and into third place on the NFL's career receptions rankings.

Fitzgerald, who has a league-leading 88 receptions this year, now has 1,106 catches. He trails just Tony Gonzalez (1,325 catches) and all-time leader Jerry Rice (1,549 catches).

Fitzgerald has averaged just upwards of 85 receptions per season over his 13-year NFL career. This season, he has a league-leading 88 receptions through Week 12.

Fitzgerald has one full year remaining on his Cardinals contract before he's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2018.

The 33-year-old veteran is still 219 catches behind Gonzalez and 443 catches behind Rice. "I don't think the record's attainable," Fitzgerald told TheMMQB.com after he topped 1,000 career receptions in December of 2015.
