A's Jed Lowrie Undergoes Successful Left Foot Surgery

OAKLAND – Jed Lowrie had successful surgery on his left toe and foot today at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Tex.  Dr. Kevin Varner performed a left great toe repair with a left foot bunionectomy.  Lowrie will begin physical therapy in two weeks and should be ready to return to baseball activity at the start of 2017 Spring Training. 

Lowrie was placed on the 15-day disabled list August 5 retroactive to August 4.  He batted .263 with two home runs and 27 RBI in 87 games with the A's. Lowrie was also on the disabled list from May 10 to 24 with a right shin contusion.
