Tony Kemp doubled off Sean Doolittle and George Springer delivered the go-ahead hit as the Astros beat the A's 2-1 in 10 innings Tuesday.
A's starter Sean Manaea held up his end of the bargain, pitching six scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits and struck out seven.
The A's loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th, but were unable to cash in.
