The Giants ace outdueled Mets starter Noah Syndergaard in the NL Wild Card Game Wednesday night, pitching a four-hit shutout while striking out six.
Scoreless through eight, the Giants finally broke through against Mets closer Jeurys Familia. Brandon Crawford led off with a double to left. After Angel Pagan struck out, Joe Panik walked, setting it up for Gillaspie, who finally put a dent in the scoreboard with a long home run to right.
