"It isn't lost on us. I wear it every day," general manager Bobby Evans told MLB Network's Jon Heyman. "Every time we lose, I think, 'What a knucklehead am I?'"

After sweeping the D'backs July 8-10, the Giants entered the All-Star break with the best record in baseball (57-33) and led the Dodgers by 6.5 games in the NL West.

The Orange and Black are 23-39 in the second half of the season and now trail Los Angeles by six games in the division.
On Monday night, Madison Bumgarner tossed seven shutout innings and the Giants entered the ninth with a 1-0 lead. But the Dodgers walked off with a 2-1 victory.
Despite the turmoil in the bullpen, the Giants, Mets and Cardinals are tied atop the wild card standings with 10 games remaining.
"We just have to gut check ourselves," Evans said. "It's still within our grasp."
