Osich Reveals Early Season Knee Injury, Undergoes Surgery

Giants reliever Josh Osich underwent surgery for his left knee Tuesday, he announced through a post on Instagram. The surprising surgery became an even bigger head-scratcher when Osich responded to a commenter asking him what happened.

Osich answered "dana888" by revealing his unknown injury, writing "about 2 weeks into the season i got a small tear in my patella tendon." This season, Osich appeared in 59 games out of the bullpen for the Giants.

In his second big-league season, Osich went 1-3 with a 4.95 ERA. The 27-year-old has posted a 3-3 record with a 3.60 ERA in two seasons with the Giants.

San Francisco selected Osich in the sixth round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Oregon State.
