Syndergaard After Loss: ‘Baseball Has Way of Ripping Your Heart Out'

Noah Syndergaard pitched the game of his life Wednesday night in New York

But his seven shutout innings and 10 strikeouts against the Giants weren't enough to keep the Mets' season alive.

Madison Bumgarner one-upped Syndergaard with a four-hit shutout and Conor Gillaspie crushed the Mets' dreams with a three-run homer in the ninth off Jeurys Familia.

After the game, the 24-year-old Syndergaard let his emotions out in a tweet.

"Baseball has a way of ripping your (heart) out, stabbing it, putting it back in your chest, then healing itself just in time for Spring Training."
