After Hard Fall, Kings Provide MRI Results on Georgios Papagiannis' Hip

What looked like a scary situation for second-year center Georgios Papagiannis Friday night in Las Vegas turned out to be just a minor injury.

The Kings announced Saturday that an MRI conducted on the first-round pick revealed a bruise in the gluteus Maximus muscle.

Papagiannis is expected to make a full recovery, according to the team.

With 6:20 left in the third quarter the Kings' Summer League finale against the Suns, Papagiannis attempted to contest a driving layup. He came down hard on his back and remained on the floor for several minutes while trainers attended to him.

In six games during the Las Vegas Summer League, Papagiannis averaged 5.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in 22.7 minutes.
