Jim Kozimor Returns to Sacramento as Part of CSN's Kings Broadcast Team

SACRAMENTO -- Everything is new in Sacramento. From the coaching staff to the brand new facility, the Kings are looking to change the perception of their franchise beginning with the 2016-17 season. But that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of room for the return of a familiar face.

CSN is bringing back Jim Kozimor for the inaugural season at the Golden 1 Center. The 30-year veteran of the sports broadcasting business is the newest addition to the Kings broadcast team after seven years away from the Sacramento market.

Kozimor will host both Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live from the state-of-the-art CSN set at the Golden 1 Center.

"I am convinced that we are going to have the best pregame show in the NBA team and that's why I came back to do this," Kozimor told CSN California. "They've given me the tools to succeed and CSN wanted me to be a part of it and that's why I'm coming back."

Former Kings teammates, Doug Christie and Bobby Jackson, are expected back for pregame and postgame duties. And Grant Napear and Jerry Reynolds will continue their work on the television broadcast, as will sideline reporter Kayte Christensen.

"We aren't just Sacramento anymore, we are a big time event," Kozimor said. "We might not be a major market, but it's going to be a major product. And I'm thrilled to be one of the faces of that product."

Kozimor spent plenty of time in the Sacramento market as a television personality for both the Kings and the Monarchs from 1998 to 2009, as well as a radio host on KHTK 1140. He brings an incredible amount of experience to the table and is a familiar face for most longtime Kings fans.

He will continue to be the primary host for CSN Bay Area's signature program SportsTalk Live and will contribute to SportsNet Central as well as the network's MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL studio shows.

CSN California will carry 81 regular-season games, including the inaugural home opener at the Golden 1 Center against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday Oct. 27. The Kings open their schedule on the road against the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 26, which you can catch on CSN California or livestream via the NBC Sports app in the Sacramento area.
