Vlade Divac Admits Kings Had a Better Deal for Cousins Two Days Ago

On Monday afternoon, Vlade Divac spoke to the media about why the Kings elected to trade DeMarcus Cousins.

When asked why he didn't wait closer to the deadline (Thursday at 12pm PT) to agree on a deal, Divac revealed something quite surprising.

"We most likely would get less because I had a better deal two days ago," Divac declared.

A better deal than what you got now?

"Yep," Divac answered.

The Kings sent Cousins and Omri Casspi to New Orleans in exchange for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, a 2017 first-round pick and a 2017 second-round pick.

Sacramento reportedly demanded the Lakers include Brandon Ingram in a deal for Cousins but Los Angeles refused.
