Ahead of Raiders Game, Chargers Lose Star CB for Season

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett says he has a partially torn ACL in his left knee and his season "is done with."

Verrett, who was a Pro Bowler last year in his second NFL season, says an MRI on Monday revealed the injury and that he'll need surgery. He says he's felt pain for the past three games.

Says Verrett: "I was shocked with the news and now I've just got to move forward with it."

It's the latest big injury for the Chargers (1-3), who have blown late leads in their three losses. They've already lost wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back Danny Woodhead to torn ACLs, and inside linebacker Manti Te'o to an Achilles injury.

Also Wednesday, rookie defensive end Joey Bosa went through a full practice for the first time and says he hopes to make his NFL debut Sunday at Oakland.
