Instant Replay: Warriors Drop KD's Exhibiton Debut to Raptors

BOX SCORE

The Warriors entered their preseason opener Saturday in Vancouver with relatively low expectations. They did not come close to exceeding them.

Shooting 39.3 percent from the field and committing 22 turnovers, the defending Western Conference champions took a 97-93 loss to the Toronto Raptors at Rogers Center in the annual NBA Canada Series.

Two Warriors scored in double figures, as shooting guard Klay Thompson fired in 16 points to lead all scorers and rookie guard Patrick McCaw totaled 11 points while playing a team-high 22 minutes.

Making his debut in a Warriors jersey, forward Kevin Durant played 19 minutes, scoring 9 points but missing seven of his nine shots from the field.

Looking every bit as if they opened training camp four days ago, the Warriors were outrebounded 58-42 and outscored 22-13 in transition.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Thompson's trigger finger works as well as ever, as he took four shots in the first three minutes, making a pair of 3-pointers before taking a seat midway through the opening quarter.

McCaw scored 11 points (5-of-7 from the field, 1-of-1 from deep), with four rebounds and a game-high five steals off the bench.

KEY STAT LINES
