JR Smith's Reaction to Chris Paul Trade: ‘League Is in a Frenzy Because…'

On Wednesday morning, the Rockets and Clippers reportedly agreed to a trade that will send Chris Paul to Houston.

Shortly thereafter, Cavs guard J.R. Smith offered his thoughts:

"It's just the way the league is going," Smith told Aaron Torres of The Washington Post. "The league is in a frenzy because of the Warriors."

Since the Warriors won the NBA Finals (in addition to the Clippers sending Paul to the Rockets):

- The Celtics traded the No. 1 pick in the draft to the 76ers
- The Clippers brought in Jerry West as a consultant
- The Timberwolves acquired Jimmy Butler
- The Lakers traded D'Angelo Russell to the Nets
- The Knicks and Phil Jackson parted ways
- David Griffin and the Cavs parted ways
- The Hawks traded Dwight Howard to the Hornets
- Paul George is reportedly on his way out of Indiana
- The Celtics are reportedly going to make a run at Gordon Hayward and George
- Teams are reportedly going to try and pluck Andre Iguodala away from the Warriors

And free agency doesn't even begin for a couple more days.

Smith struggled mightily in Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals -- 3 points and 0 points respectively.

But he bounced back and averaged just under 19 points over the next three games and went 17-for-27 from 3-point territory.

Smith is due about $13.8 million next season, about $14.7 million in 2018-19 and has a partial guarantee in 2019-20.
