Warriors Announce 2016 Training Camp Roster, Schedule

The Golden State Warriors will hold their 2016 training camp at the team's practice facility in downtown Oakland beginning Tuesday, September 27, the team announced on Friday.

The team also announced the signing of free agent center JaVale McGee, free agent forward Elgin Cook, and free agent guards Cameron Jones, Phil Pressey and Elliot Williams. The team's roster currently stands at 19 players.

McGee, 28, is an eight-year NBA veteran, owning career averages of 8.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.71 blocks in 19.2 minutes over 416 regular-season games with the Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks. Last season with Dallas, the 7'0" University of Nevada product averaged 5.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 10.9 minutes in 34 games.

Williams, 27, is a four-year NBA veteran, owning career averages of 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 13.5 minutes in 109 regular-season games with the Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies. The 6'5" guard has been named an NBA Development League All-Star in each of the last two seasons while playing for the Warriors D-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, including in 2015-16 when he averaged a team-high 28.4 points per game, to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists, in 21 contests.

Cook, 23, went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft after a three-year career at the University of Oregon. In 2015-16, the 6'6" forward averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.42 steals in 31.9 minutes over 38 games. He played in the 2016 NBA Summer League with Sacramento, averaging 6.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15.2 minutes over four games.

Jones, 27, has played professionally the last five seasons in the NBA Development League and overseas. In three seasons in the D-League, the Northern Arizona product averaged 15.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.13 steals and 30.6 minutes over 147 games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and Santa Cruz Warriors. Last season, the 6'4" guard played in Israel and Greece.

Pressey, 25, is a three-year NBA veteran, owning career averages of 3.2 points, 2.9 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 13.6 minutes in 148 games with the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns. The 5'11" guard went undrafted out of the University of Missouri in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Following four days of practice, the team will open its preseason schedule on Saturday, October 1, against the Toronto Raptors at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
