Raiders-Loving Cop Pulls Over 49ers' Crabtree

Somewhere, Al Davis may be grinning.

Police who on Sundays trade their badges for Raiders black-and-silver performed a traffic stop on San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree, causing the former first-round draft pick to miss a flight out of the Bay Area, the receiver claims.

The 49ers are on their bye week, during which many players visit family (or Mexico). Crabtree was on his way to San Francisco International Airport, he claimed on Twitter on Tuesday, when he was stopped by police.

"Just got pull over on highway 280 on my way to the airport. Police kept me for 30 mins..." Crabtree tweeted on Tuesday. "Then told me he was a raiders fan and didn't like the niners!! Made me miss my flight!"

Crabtree's tweet -- which, continuing a seeming trend of athletes using the social media Web site to do what sideline and locker room reporters have been unable to get NFL players to do for decades -- was a big hit with others on the Twittersphere. "damn popo! Always messin with the real," a user named cvgfolife831 tweeted.

Dallas, Texas native Crabtree, 24, had a big game out against Detroit, with nine catches for 77 yards, but he's still waiting to score his first touchdown of 2011 for the first-place 49ers.
