Hulu Boss Turns Down Yahoo CEO Post

Jason Kilar was reportedly a finalist for the company's vacant position.

Yahoo was hoping the third time is the charm.

The struggling Sunnyvale-based technology company has struck out twice when it hired Carol Bartz and Scott Thompson to be the CEO.

Friday Yahoo was reportedly eying Hulu CEO Jason Kilar for its top spot after Thompson left the company in May following an error that was discovered on his resume.

Almost as quickly as the Kilar report began to surface, the Hulu boss "graciously declined to be considered" for the position, according to Bloomberg's Emily Change.

The company has struggled to keep up with the likes of Google and Facebook as the Internet has expanded beyond search.

Kilar worked as an executive at Amazon before joining Hulu in 2008. He is largely credited with helping the video-sharing site strike deals with NBC, Walt Disney and Fox to stream its content online.

Hulu has also been a hot target for one of Yahoo's main reasons for struggling. Google was rumored to be interested in purchasing Hulu last year.
