Quickly the tweet made the rounds on Twitter has people virtually gasped in shock: How could the clothing designer make light of a situation that has turned bloody in just the last 48 hours?
It took Kenneth Cole about two hours to realize maybe the tweet was not made in the best taste.
"Re Egypt tweet: we weren't intending to make light of a serious situation. We understand the sensitivity of this historic moment -KC," Kenneth Cole tweeted on the account personally to his more than 8,900 followers.
Despite the Mea culpa, Kenneth Cole hasn't deleted the controversial tweet, which has ironically done what it was sent out to do. Garnered plenty of free publicity.
