Man Arrested for Charging iPhone on Train

In an incident that has made international headlines, an artist named Robin Lee was detained for charging his iPhone on a London train's power outlet on July 10, arrested for "suspicion of abstracting electricity," reported CNET.

Lee's arrest would probably not happen in the Bay Area. According to Muni spokesperson Paul Rose, someone would not likely go to jail for repeating this offense in San Francisco.

"This violation does not fall within the transportation code, so we would not recommend an arrest to SFPD or write a citation," Rose told NBC Bay Area.

Even though you won't go to jail for charging your phone on a Muni vehicle, a preferable practice is still to charge up before your journey.
