“Movember:” Mo' Money, Mo' Staches

Tech industry gets hairy for charity

It's a movement.  It has its own website.  It has techies all over Silicon Valley just saying no to shaving.

It's Movember.

You know, the thing where guys grow a moustache during the month of November, to raise money for the fight against prostate and testicular cancer.  Then, today, they mercifully shave them off.

It's a celebration at SurveyMonkey, a Palo Alto company that develops surveys on the web. They like to have fun, and told their male employees that if they want to grow a 'stache for a cause, to go for it.

Today, as mentioned above, they'll mercifully participate in a mass shave-off.  And celebrate the $4,000 they raised.

Good for them.
