An app called Nerd claims to allow users to tap into the brain power of Stanford University students.
Nerd purports to offer help for areas like college advice and tutoring, recruiting and projects, and campus advertising and surveys.
A fee structure is not provided on the site as each project is individually negotiated, but one example posted on the site suggests that they can survey 100 Stanford students for $500.
"It seems like Nerd could have its uses, but I have to admit, it's a little bit undercut by the disclaimer that 'We are not affiliated or endorsed by Stanford University or its affiliates, trustees, officers or employees,'" cautioned SFist.
