Pacifica may be falling into the ocean but at least residents can now send mobile tweets about it.
AT&T service to one corner of the oceanside town was restored Thursday evening shortly after 5 p.m., ending almost a week of frustration for customers.
A "degraded cell site" forced an unknown number of AT&T customers to go without cell service in Pacifica's Linda Mar area for close to seven days. AT&T Spokesman John Britton said it appears the wires of the hilltop cell tower had been cut by someone. But he did not have specific details.
Britton said restoring service was a huge priority for the company, which has often been attacked for its service, but the location of the tower, along with wet weather, made the site difficult to reach.
