Pixar Co-Director Discusses New Movie “Inside Out”

“Inside Out” co-director Ronnie Del Carmen sat down with NBC Bay Area inside Pixar’s Emeryville headquarters to talk about how the latest technology that was put to use to get the results the filmmakers wanted to see on the big screen.

"Can we make characters that are made out of particles?” Del Carmen said. “I don't know. They go away, they came back, and they show you. I didn't know you guys could do that."

And, after five years of designing and computer rendering, “they” did.

"You don't want that to get in the way of – ‘Oh, God, that looks fantastic. Where are we? What were we talking about?’ You don't want that."

The mix of technology, and storytelling, just might get inside your head.

As one movie comes out, Pixar is putting the finishing touches on another film. That one, featuring dinosaurs, is set for a late November release.
