Google out. Facebook in.

With Google Reader set to shut down on July 1, Facebook is reportedly working on a replacement scheme for the RSS feed reader, according to PCMag.com.

Scottish developer Tom Waddington is credited with reporting the news first, after noticing mention of RSS feeds in Facebook code, the report said.

Facebook is not commenting on the report.

RSS has been in Facebook before -- briefly in 2011.

Google Reader's end was first announced in March.
