One programmer is trying to put the art into artificial intelligence.
"Deep Forger" is a Twitter bot that will take an image you Tweet to the account, produce a digital painting inspired by a famous style and Tweet it back to you.
The account, reminiscent of Google's Deep Dream Generator, will usually respond to your request in a few hours, but creator Alex J. Champandard revealed on Nucl.ai that you can jump the line by following the bot.
NBC Bay Area's digital team tweeted a picture of Raj Mathai and Jessica Aguirre to Deep Forger and received a lovely rendition of our 11 p.m. anchors in the style of Édouard Manet circa 1882 alongside the original image and the painting that inspired this new creation.
