Microsoft just told us it's planning to release a Twitter app for the Zune HD personal media player. The free app will be available Thursday morning at 9 a.m., downloadable via the Zune software on a PC or over a wireless connection.
So now the Zune takes the next step. It has a long way to go before it reaches the 100,000+ apps of its competitors, but this is a good start. We especially like the fact that all the Zune apps are free, albeit with advertising. And that super-clean OLED screen will be just right for some serious tweeting.
