Alleged Lego Master Thief Pleads Not Guilty

Someone else was stacking the bricks.

Silicon Valley executive Thomas Langenbach pleaded not guilty to swapping barcodes on expensive LEGO sets to buy them on the severe cheap, according to the Palo Alto Daly News.

Langenback, an executive at SAP Labs in Palo Alto, is charged with four felonies for supposedly bringing in his own barcode stickers to stores that sold LEGO sets, the newspaper reported. Using this not-quite-five finger discount, Langenbach was able to clear $30,000 via the 2,100 LEGO sets he sold from his $2 million Mountain View home, prosecutors said.

At the house, police found "hundreds of boxes of unopened LEGO sets," sold under the handle "tomsbrickyard," according to the newspaper.

Langenbach turned down a plea deal for a lighter sentence and pleaded not guilty. If he's convicted, he could face five years in state prison, the newspaper reported.
