"Beverly Hills Chihuahua" actor's Chihuahua snatched from San Rafael back yard

It's a case of life imitating art for a Bay Area woman who is living a nightmare similar to one she helped portray on the big screen.
Lilly Lange served as the voice stand-in for Drew Barrymore in Disney's "Beverly Hills Chihuahua," the film about a spoiled Chihuahua that was dognapped.
Now, it appears Lange's very own Chihuahua, Lefty, has met with the same fate.
Lange let Lefty, a 2-year-old white and honey-colored deer-head Chihuahua, out to go potty over the weekend, the Marin IJ reported. When she called for him, he didn't come running. There wasn't so much as a "yip" from the back yard of the San Rafael property.
One of Lange's neighbors told police she saw a woman walk behind the house and emerge a few minutes later holding the 5-pound pup in her arms. The neighbor didn't think anything of it. Maybe she was someone who was supposed to be taking care of Lefty, she told police.
Lange, the niece of actress Jessica Lange, says she's devastated and is now looking back at ironic remarks about her best friend.
"People would say about Lefty, 'He is so amazing. I would have stolen him.' And I would laugh it off." Lange told the paper. "But now it's happened."
