Firefighters in San francisco are being called heroes after they saved the lives of two cats that were caught in an apartment fire Friday morning on Jackson Street near Powell.

Firefighters say that the cats were unconscious when they pulled them from the apartment. They revived the felines then supplied them with miniature oxygen masks.

Firefighters say the kitties are doing just fine now.

The fire department says the fire started in the kitchen of an apartment in the rear of the building.

No one was hurt.
