Gimmie Back My Cow!

Bovine burgular shakes up small town

The sudden kidnapping of a beloved "baby" has shocked a small town. This baby happens to be made of fiberglass, but his abduction is shocking nonetheless.

“Baby Moo,” a 50-pound calf statue was stolen from Hope’s Cookies, a local cookie and ice cream shop in Rosemont, Pa. The crime was committed somewhere between the hours of 11 p.m. on Sunday and 8 a.m. on Monday.

Residents who frequent Hope’s Cookies voiced their dismay over Baby Moo's disappearance.

“Yeah, I’ve been here a lot and I saw it and lots of kids like to play on it, and now its gone,” said one girl.

Yet no one is more distraught then the calf’s mother, “Mama Moo.”  While the cow statue isn’t very expressive, Herb Spivak -- the shop’s owner -- knows she's very concerned.

“Mama Moo is inconsolable and wants her baby back,” said Spivak. “We are offering a $500 reward for the safe return of the calf, no questions asked.”

If you have any information on Baby Moo’s whereabouts please call 610.527.4488 or the Lower Merion Police Department at 610.649.1000.
