MySpace Busts Craigslist Robber

This is an Internet double down. The robber used Craigslist to rip people off.  A  victim used MySpace to catch him.

A man dubbed the Craigslist robber by investigators has been arrested and is being held without bond in Cook County Jail.

James Thomas of Chicago and an accomplice reportedly lured victims to locations by pretending to sell items they listed on the online site Craigslist. Between Nov. 25 and Jan. 27, prosecutors say the pair robbed victims at gunpoint in six different attacks.

One victim met Thomas, 20, and his partner in hopes of selling a Gucci bag, according to assistant Cook County State's Attorney Erin Antonietti. Instead, Thomas and the second man, who hasn't been arrested, took the man's jacket, watch and bag.

Thomas was apparently caught after the victim spotted him on MySpace wearing his stolen jacket and posing with the gun used in the attack.
