Woman Arrested for Allegedly Biting Macy's Employee in Newark: Police

A Northern California woman was arrested after allegedly biting a Macy’s employee in a Newark store because she was upset over the price of a purse, police said Thursday.

Police said 42-year-old Anh Nguyen became enraged over the price of a Michael Kors handbag while she was shopping at the NewPark Mall department store Wednesday evening.

Nguyen reportedly began yelling and screaming profanities at a store employee and manager, and threw herself onto the floor.

When loss prevention officers responded, Nguyen allegedly bit one of the officers on the leg and scratched him, causing a laceration, according to police. The officer was treated at the store for his injury.

Nguyen was arrested by Newark police on assault and battery charges, and was booked at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
