Jean is a Bay Area native. She is a San Mateo High School graduate and attended Humboldt State in Northern California.  That is where she got her start in TV news. After interning at KVIQ in Eureka she got hired and learned how to shoot, edit, and write for the evening show.

After several years on the North Coast she went after a change of pace and took a producing job at KOIN in Portland, Oregon. After working over nights for 2 years she headed back to California and got a reporting job at KSBY in San Luis Obispo.

She spent two years there enjoying every minute but in 1999 it was time to come home. She has been at KNTV ever since reporting for the 11 p.m. news. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and dog Dolly who is a rescue from the Oakland SPCA. Jean spends her spare time gardening, surfing, tossing the tennis ball for the dog, and searching for story ideas.

Her favorite part of the job is meeting the people that make up the Bay Area and telling their stories. If you’re out in San Francisco you might just see her dragging her husband along on a cable car, it's the best $5 ride around.
