The “Smiles & Dreams” project is a collaborative of two nonprofit organizations: Living Dreams and
Smile Kids Japan, supporting the hundreds of children orphaned after the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami in the North Eastern region of Japan.
“As the one-year anniversary of the disasters in Japan approaches, I felt that it was important to
continue to support the relief effort, as it will take decades for Japan to recover from the worst natural disaster in its history,” said Aileen Chanco, artistic director of Music at the Mission. “Thatʼs why I felt we had to do something to help the orphans.”
Tickets are available online at www.musicatmsj.org/oneyearafter for $35 adults, $25 students and
seniors and $5 for children under 12. “We are also looking for sponsors and volunteers as well.”
