Tickets are now on sale for this year's Downtown San Jose Music in the Park, produced by San Jose Downtown Association. Two concerts are scheduled for this summer's concert series at various downtown San Jose parks.
On Thursday, July 17th, join Live 105.3 and see The English Beat, Finish Ticket, and The Holdup. 35 years after first forming as The Beat, Dave Wakeling continues to tour the world as The English Beat with an amazing all-star ska backing band playing all the hits of The Beat, General Public and his new songs. Fans of The Killers and The Strokes will love the indie rock sensibility of San Francisco's The Finish Ticket who will play the middle set of the night. San Jose natives The Holdup will perform their unique blend of indie/reggae/pop as part of a Music in the Park homecoming set to open the evening starting at 5:15pm.
Thursday, August 21st will feature Pete Escovedo Orchestra and La Santa Cecilia at Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park. Pete Escovedo headlining for his 18th appearance at Music in the Park. Escovedo is an artist who broke the barriers between smooth jazz, Salsa, Latin jazz and contemporary music more than 50 years ago and always delivers an amazing live show, complete with a jazz orchestra and family members in tow. 2014's Best Latin Rock Album Grammy Award Winner's - La Santa Cecilia - return to San Jose by popular demand - following a sold out, dance-til-you-drop show at the San Jose Jazz Winter Fest in February.
