Out of the Shelter: A Special Animal Got Their Second Chance

Frisco was found wandering on his own in Santa Clara near a busy intersection and was quite neglected. He was very underweight and suffering from a pretty severe skin condition that resulted in some hair loss. Even with the issues he faced, he was a most friendly and happy canine, and even happier when we started feeding him and caring for his skin issues! Frisco started gaining some weight and getting healthy. His sweet temperament never wavered while he was here, and though a lot of folks found him to be a big softie, it is ever-challenging to find pit bull-friendly housing. The staff and volunteers loved how gentle and social Frisco was; he would constantly roll over for belly rubs and start snoring because he was so content. Just as we were getting discouraged that this wonderful pooch would never find a place to call home, a family stopped by looking for a canine companion and they made an instant connection and were over the moon in love with him. Frisco is now enjoying life as the Prince of a real-life castle in the mountains. Now named Mac, he continues to win hearts and be the best he can be!
