Popular Comedy Opens Livermore Shakes

Livermore Shakespeare Festival opens their 11th season of Shakespeare in the Vineyard on June 20th with The Liar by David Ives, adapted from the comedy by Pierre Corneille. The comedy takes place in 17th Century Paris and centers around a boastful young man, Dorante, who moves to Paris after completing law school. The story continues with the classical farce components of mistaken identity, romance, fabrication, and eventually, a happy resolution.

Playing in partial repertory with The Liar is William Shakespeare's comic look at the battle of the sexes, The Taming of the Shrew. Livermore Shakespeare Festival 2013 runs June 20 - July 21 at Concannon Vineyard.
