The CalFresh Outreach Volunteer will be a member of the CalFresh Outreach team, whose primary responsibility will be directly assisting clients with enrollment in the CalFresh program with screening for potential eligibility and following-up to preserve their enrollment. Training and ongoing support will be provided. Volunteer assignments will be available in communities throughout Santa Clara County, and hours vary with the volunteer’s availability. The position is supervised by the CalFresh Outreach Program Manager.

Description: PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: CalFresh is the new name of California’s Food Stamp program. Catholic Charities’ CalFresh Outreach program increases enrollment among CalFresh-eligible households by removing barriers to enrollment. Through community education, application assistance, follow-up assistance, and advocacy, our goal is to enroll over 3,800 households before the end of September 2012
