Wendy Maruyama's Tag Project Comes to San Jose Museums this February and March

San Jose museums are taking an artistic look back on the Japanese internment camps. The San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), in collaboration with ArtObjectGallery and Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj), proudly presents Wendy Maruyama: Executive Order 9066: The Tag Project. The multi-venue exhibit opens February and March 2014 at the San Jose ICA in downtown San Jose, ArtObjectGaller and Japanese American Museum, both located in Japantown San Jose.

The three exhibits feature real and recreated artifacts that reveal the historic events of the Japanese internment camps.

Opening Reception events will be held on Friday, March 14, at each of the following venues:

  • Wendy Maruyama: Executive Order 9066 ArtObjectGallery: 535 North 5th Street, Japantown San Jose
  • Excuetive Order 9066 Memories and Artifacts Japanese American Musuem of San Jose: 592 North 1st Street Japantown San Jose
